    Photobygms,

I'm glad you liked seeing Mt. Shasta and the black bird. It was a fun time traveling on vacation.

Vacation (or holidays) are the best times for traveling. The time off, no stress and enjoying everything you encounter. 😎

So, here are my (very consistent) thoughts on sharpness, in image form 😂:

@simplejoy, The frist one does made me think about a few I made a while ago.
(shooting with a shallow DOF is fun)

    Simplyjoy,

I like the sharpness of the leaf in first one. For the second picture, I keep wondering what it is.

    Photobygms,

I like seeing all of that green. I sometimes just take pictures of green plants also without flowers. Usually, that is when the first leaves show themselves in the spring. But I can't seem to take them like that with the shallow DOF, since I prefer sharp photos (for the most part, with some exceptions).

I do like all the photos, but this one was puzzling me 😳
First I thought it was a old and worn thrown away shoe, but than I realized it a bit more fishy 😀

This is more of an experiment than anything else.
I hardly ever shoot at very wide apertures, but I wanted to toy with a 50mm prime lens at f/2.8.
Shooting in Av mode, it kicked the shutter speed up to 1/1600, which is totally unnecessary for a stationary object, but what the heck 😀

Even with f/2.8 still a reasonable DOF But that because foreground is not that isolated from the background, if you would change your own position you might get a more shallow DOF effect, And also shooting at f/1.8 could be an option to enhance the shallow DOF.
    😉
