I have no reason to believe that is true.
ISO is set on every shot by everyone either manually or automatically by the camera.

The guy Don B was a member of DPR from 2003. before i even owned a digital camera, i was shooting film. so i dont see any relevance only to make trouble. -

That came out with EXIF about 4 days ago Don. It was in a gallery update. Not there one day and there the next.

"exposure value" is how we communicate our photography to one and another, "exposure" is meaning less without iso /film speed. iso is and will always be part of "exposure value"
back to your question. there will always be a need to adjust iso/gain. EV of a scene is dependant on what the photographer wants his image to look like. there will always be 3 controlling factors.
like a car we will always need a steering system. brakes and throttle.

I'm asking about the on-camera user control over ISO, "is it possible to design a camera without an ISO dial?" The answer is "yes". In fact, there are cameras where the ISO dial does nothing, absolutely nothing, to raw data.
