Your Canon Photos No.1: 4th to 13th May 2023

Yes, I do enjoy post processing because I can evaluate what I did right or what I did wrong. Often it's in terms of composition or depth of field. But I'm so busy that I often have to do minimal post processing. I challenge myself to take the best photos "in the field". Like often, I'll try to keep the photos straight so I don't have to straighten them later. But with fast action activity, that sometimes is nearly impossible.

That's an interesting photo. What is that? At first, it looked like the tip of a pencil.

Thanks Simplejoy. It's almost the end of the tulip flower season. But there's other flowers... I was lucky to have found this combination of lighting and shadows.

Subject: Tulip Farm

About a week ago on Sunday was out taking pictures at a tulip farm. It was a lot of fun. I used four cameras and four lenses.

Photo No. 5 - Here you can see some of the yellow flowers petals that are falling down. Does anyone read Russian? I think that's in Russian and says to stay out of the narrow pathway so that the tulips are not damaged. That's my guess.

Tropical mocking bird 1, 2 Cocrico

Thanks Adventurer. It was cloudy most of the time, but fortunately it didn't rain. I remembered to set the white balance to cloudy, except for a few times when the sun came out. Then I set it to AWB.

The tropical mocking bird is so interesting, so different than anything I have seen. I like how you used the sky as a background in the second photo. What camera and lens did you use?

I can read a little Russian. I can't say what this sign says, but none of the words are for flowers or tulips, so I don't know what it's all about.

Those fields are really something, love the colors and the uniformity, very nice.

The Dutch are pretty famous for their Tulip fields but the first ever Tulips over here were an import from the Ottoman Empire (present day Turkey) in the 16th century 😉

I have also only encountered owls on less than a handful of occasions and I have been going outdoors for about 30 years or so.

It is a dangerous world for pencils out there... you don't know the half of it! 😉

I looked through other pictures I took, and I saw a similar sign in Spanish, but not in English. It said something like, for your safety (seguridad) and the safety (seguridad) of the flowers, please keep on the wide paths. Do the Russian words say something like that?
