Your Canon Photos No. 45: 10th to 16th March 2024

I liked seeing the views of the Künstlerhaus building and the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde building with a little bit of blue sky. That "highly decorated ceiling" is gorgeous. It's beauty that would be difficult to describe in words.

@davidwien you do show the good spots in Wien. Like David we also went for a stroll in our own home town today.
But we have a small forest in our home town.
This is actually one of the oldest old-growth forest in the Netherlands. It's called Asserbos, and it's almost in the middle of the town.
Some may know Assen, but not for this forest, but for the Dutch TT. (MotoGP) at the TT Circuit or the Cathedral of Speed.

I like seeing photos of your "bos". Bosque is a similar word in Spanish that means forest also. Wow...what a great-looking photo of the small bird. You caught it with a beautiful background.

In the first picture, I like the fluffy white feathers we see, next to the bluish water. Your second photo reminds us to keep a look out for this new life also in the weeks ahead, in addition to more flower blooms. I just love this time of year, with longer and warmer days as we approach summer. Those storm clouds look ominous. I always carry at least one "pocket" umbrella at the bottom of my camera bag for times like that, to make sure the gear stays dry.

Subject: Exercise Machines

On two separate times I visited a park last month to take pictures of the Hooded Merganser ducks. Here also I found these outdoor exercise machines. I've never seen anything like it, so I documented it a little in between my photograph sessions with the ducks.

I thought that these machines would have been used more. After all, they were free; no gym fees were required. Maybe in time, people will use them more for long periods and see less of them as a curiosity and more as a way of getting more exercise without the added cost of private gym membership.

Subject: Hard To Get Wood Ducks

A few days ago I went to check up on the Wood Ducks. I wondered if I could find any. I found some, but they were making it difficult. So I thought I would share with you all what I did. There's some depth of field issues that made some of the scenes soft in places, but I thought you all might want to see my effort anyway.

Photo No. 5 - Then I saw these people who had their cameras out. A male Wood Duck just came by them. I should have been there with them. I just love your magnolia tree blooms. Those blooms are some of my favorites. Often each year I try to find them. Today I noticed that the daffodil flowers are now in full bloom too. So I was thinking about getting more of those. We had sunny weather today which is encouraging a lot of these flowers to open up.
