After a year and couple of months of having it, I do quite enjoy using it to the point that it's effectively my main camera these days. I do take my other camera (5D mk IV) out for specific purposes such as very wide-angle shots of the night sky, but overall I've been pleasantly surprised how well it handles all kinds of miscellaneous photography needs. I thought I'd mostly use it for wildlife but it turned out to be a nice all-around camera too.

That's neat you were able to get outdoors and take pictures in such cold conditions. I try to do the same in inclement weather, even when it's raining. We may get some snow and freezing rain next week. I also like to take pictures at night. That's great you enjoy the Canon R7 for everyday use.

That's great you were able to set up the printing from your smartphone and tablet. Did you buy photo paper yet? I ordered a bunch of letter sized Canon PP-201 paper yesterday...should get it in a week or two. I went to a local store for it, but they were all out. It seems more these days, we have to order a lot of that online. I'm curious how long the ink will last, printing out from letter sized (or A4) paper. You can read about the types of Canon photo paper that are compatible for the G7020. Other common types are PT-101, PP-301 and MP-101. There's more described also.

@stevet1 and @Digirame Eco or Megatank printers are great, the ink levels won't drop for a while.
I switched to an Epson ET3850 after many Canon printers (got an better deal with an Epson) but also an Eco or Mega tank printer.
I've printed some photos and a bunch of papers already with the Epson levels don't seem to drop 😁 -
They are real people behind those masks that come every year for the Venice Carnevali. Should be on everyone's bucket list!

That's neat you took these with film. The photos look a lot like what we are having here in Oregon with clouds, rain and maybe snow in a few more days. But there's always hope with a ray of sunshine. 😀

There is a long history of mask wearing in Venice - not always as elaborate as these - but with the general intention of concealing identity to allow affairs and liaisons at balls and parties and particularly at Carnevale time. (carne vale = farewell to meat, the beginning of Lent). The tradition had died out, but was revived by the tourist board some years ago to boost visitor numbers during February when Venice is dull, grey, damp and cold. These masks are everywhere in special shops and on every stall selling souvenirs to tourists. The very best of them are made by highly skilled craftsmen in the city, but most are these days made in China. But they’re bright and cheerful and add to the general ‘other world-ness’ of Venice.

That said, the last few days have been by far the coldest (and snowiest) of the year. Bad luck for early growers such as these.

We had a very warm December also. But now we are supposed to get temperatures as low as 15 degrees F (which is -9.44 degrees C) on Saturday. We are also forecast to get over six inches of snow in three days. I hope I can get out and take pictures of it.

Maybe a couple of more winter'y shots from this week, this time featuring birds, since I'm participating (again) on "spot 100 bird species during the year" challenge (currently at 21 species, although the progress is going to slow down soon until the spring migration, there just aren't that many species that stay here through the winter).
A western jackdaw on snow. I liked the contrast between the dark tones of the bird and the almost featureless white snow.

You are off to a good start for your challenge. I liked seeing your bird photos. I'm glad you are taking the time to take these wintry images. It's tough sometimes because of the cold. Two days ago, when I was outside it was "freezing" enough for mittens. That saved me from the painful cold, but I made too many fat finger mistakes when changing the settings (because of the mittens). But it was worth it, when I came home and saw the pictures. Tomorrow we most likely will also get snow.
I hope to see more of your photos. Again, thanks for these tough-to-take pictures.

Ah, we have another "volunteer" to take pictures in the cold. 😀 The second photo is strikingly beautiful with the three leaves. It kind of jumps out at you...catches our attention...that's great.

It has been cold and dreary here all week. Today was no exception. I decided to visit the Jesuit Church in the centre of Vienna after lunch. Not perhaps the best of ideas, given that it was only an hour before sunset and it was very dark inside. The church is always packed for the Sunday sung mass, as the music is by Mozart, Schubert and others and is accompanied by an orchestra. (Other churches also have orchestra accompanying the mass on Sundays. In one, the priest always makes a speech before things start, in which he reminds the noisy congregation of tourists that "this is not a concert!")
This is a view of the high altar. Some people were preparing for a service. When I say dark, I mean really dark, such that I couldnt really see properly; but by means of DXO one can bring out the shadows and hide any noise. (It really didnt look like this!) The pillars look like marble, but they are actually painted plaster.
The carved and inlaid pews are very beautiful:

But perhaps the most interesting feature is the cupola, which is actually painted on the ceiling. I am not sure I took it from the most advantageous position. Obviously, as one moves up the church, there is no point at which the centre of this painted cupola is actually centered -- it stays the same!
Yes, the EXIF data is accurate, and all hand held! I must return in the spring to see if I can improve on these.

The church is beautiful. Great job showing us this. I'm glad you were able to get outdoors in the cold also. It's good for the soul to be active even in the darkest of winter...to see the beauty that surrounds us.
