I haven't seen anything that indicates the forums will keep going after the archiving has been completed.

The forums are very, very quiet now and I'm sure that if Amazon has "officially" done a back-flip on the closure then it would be in their best interests to announce it immediately before the alternative sites become the norm in order to try to get members back asap.

There is no reason to keep the current closure announcement on display on dpreview if they have changed their minds.

There are more indications that will remain on business. Do you think they will bother to produce video reviews if they were “archiving”? Richard Butler said the whole staff is still working at their offices and that they can’t make any official announcement yet.

What they are doing at the moment is totally consistent with what they announced and still have on display at dpreview. I don't see continuing to publish content as being anything different to what they said they were going to do while archiving.

"We’ve also heard that you need more time to access the site, so we’re going to keep publishing some more stories while we work on archiving."

My interpretation of that is that it's mostly business as usual until the archiving is completed. After archiving is completed they will most likely close.

They remove the closing announcement and the update too. They are closing nothing, the brit imply that in more than one occasion.

    Aahhh, you might be right.

The closure update announcement was still appearing in my browser, different to the one I use for dprevived, until I cleared the browser cache after seeing your previous post.

Yes, the closure update announcement is gone now. Maybe something is going on behind the scenes at the moment regarding the longer term future for the forums but isn't finalised yet.

I wonder if they are going to hire Chris and Jordan back 😂

I'm sure if they want to lure them back they will have to offer them a lot more than what they were getting previously 😀

Yeah... DPRTV desperately needs a new host!

I don't understand why C&J need to be part of a website instead of going with their own channel 🤔🤔

Dude, I think you're posting from a parallel universe, since I've noticed zero locked threads myself in this universe's DPRevived.

Well, not as Alfn maybe but under another name for certain 🙂

You already used David1961 here and was identified as Porky and now you are using Alfn as well after being identified as Porky. So atm you have two usernames running simultaneously.

    You'll be staying here 🤣

Goodbye then Porky, I wish I could say nice knowing you, but...

Or you found that all the people that you used to troll on DPReview have moved here, and I suspect that your life goes a little flat when you can't troll.

Point 1 - what you've done is doxing - which is against the rules - not that in this instance I mind, but other people might.
In answer to your question, I've locked one thread. No members banned.
What really got you was when I changed your 'David1961' nick to 'Porky', since it was a very clear impersonation (also against the rules). Or that I failed to instantly ban you as 'Alfn' so that you could go and moan about it somewhere else.

    Is that an order?

I sure will be. This is a much better place than DPR.

I am absolutely staggered at how small, meaningless & utterly mind numbingly boring some peoples lives must be, to invest so much time and effort in attempting to wind faceless, nameless people up over the interwebz. Have you seriously got nothing better, interesting or fulfilling to do than try to troll others? Really? That simply does my head in.

    What error?

Have you set the 'Post per page' drop down menu? If so, that doesn't work right as it sends you to a page number that doesn't exist in large threads (the internal math is off).

I think it's a matter of taste. These quotes from the DPReview Shutdown Thread #5

In the end there seem to be two communities that value different things, and the DPReview membership is maybe splitting along those lines. In relation to the last comment, I think what might be 'short lived' if DPReview continues are sites aiming to offer the same moderation and censorship experience - simply because people will go for the real thing.

Had the same problem. I changed back the number of posts shown from 50 to 20 and now the problem is gone. Thanks !!
