Nice shot, beautiful light and colors, I like the contrast between the boat and the tank on the right. A wider angle could have caught the full reflection of the boat in the water

The eyes are very important in a portrait. I brighten then a tiny bit to help them stand out. The owl dose the rest.

Two little owls

The great horned owlets I've been following left there nest two days ago. These are some of the last photos I took of them on the nest.

Owls are such a unique bird. I remember when I first starting hanging around the FujiX forum on DPR after I got my Pro2 in 2016, Jerry was the "owl guy." So Jerry when you going to go back out a chase owls? 🤠

I think I mentioned you may want to Like Lichens with a Leica! 😁 Or maybe I shouldn't say that on a Fuji forum.

I like the color palette in this one quite a lot. The wood/brown tone is just about perfectly rendered. Which simulation were you using?

Thanks. I mainly shoot with the 35mm so this was as far back I could get for this particular shot.

Don't forget bug spray! The bugs were out in full force when I went. I think I saw a coyote roaming around the trail but I wasn't able to get a good look. I turned around and went the other way lol. I live about the same distance. San Jacinto is a place I've never been to that I want to visit. Looks similar to San Joaquin.

Weren't too many birds on or around the cliff top later in the morning so I took some surfer pics from up there instead.

Bird detect worked fine for the wingless flyers at that distance.
