Attempted to shoot northern lights week ago. Unsuccessfully.

Nope.

Something.

Sky clears up but not much lights any more.

Distant echo what could have been. Time to pack up.

Still, these are pretty interesting scenes. The first is terrifying!

I've taken some of my best shots after a few drinks, so no excuses.

It is a pretty nice shot. The impression that the car has just left a trail of yellow lines. The only criticism, is that there is no Traffic Warden in the shot, ready to take advantage.

A lovely set, but the last steals the show, with the two animal friends. Composition, light and all the rest, that we fret about do not matter here, the expression on the deer's fave is great.

Is it a farm near your home? How did he come to have this deer as a pet?

Well, the first shot with that strange light and clouds is quite dramatic.

The Rivinton set is the strongest here. The semi abandoned stairs are quite fascinating.

Too many things are going on in my life: medical, family, travels. I am trying to concentrate. Apologies for the low-profile contributions.

Beautiful church and frescos, but it's the wooden artifacts in the last two that shout 'Switzerland' to me 😃 Take a close look at the wooden door with the round hole at the bottom - for cats ro dogs perhaps? No, a miniature elephant! 😉

A nice pano, but I find myself trying to see round the end of the building to catch the actual sun. Though of course including the sun would bring technical difficulties.

The perpendicular trunks in this make it rather interesting.

I had a similar experience 😒 Went out for an evening walk and got an alert while out, so I checked out with my phone camera and saw lots of pink sky and stars as the latest shower cleared away to the north. I went home for my camera only to see that by the time I had everything ready to go the activity had dropped to amber, so didn't bother. And then next morning... 😒

I'm getting too old and lazy nowadays to get up early and set up outside.

This one would be great except for the foreground bushes. It's hard to compose well in the dark!

This one is quite successful, despite the colours being past their peak.

They were all shot with f/10. The sequence for the stitched panorama was shot handheld.

The shots from the gondola were taken with 1/1000s shutter speed to help prevent motion blur and camera shake.
