Brighton, UK.

When I saw the scooter and Brighton, Quadrophenia came to mind instantly. Then I enlarged your picture and read the sign. The dog is a nice touch.

We went to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall, last year where Roger Daltrey was headlining, and we saw some of these machines in the foyer, as well as some grey haired veterans in Parka coats in the audience. ( I actually enjoyed sets by Joan Armatrading and Richard Ashcroft more. I got the impression Daltry was just going though the motions)

Black Sands

More from the lunar landscapes of Tenerife ... though as far as I know they don't have trees on the moon. They are actually endemic Canarian pines.

Hearn Generation Plant in Toronto, decommissioned and used now only for movie sets and art shows.

Amazing nature's wonder. #1 shot is tops.

The Who and Lambretta ( bright and cheerful).

Atmospheric place, especially in those weather conditions. I find the composition a bit unsatisfactory, with the foreground taking up a bit too much space, though I can see why you wanted to emphasise it. Maybe a lower perspective would work - less of the vehicles, more emphasis on the dead weeds? 😉

Yes, I think I'd get more out of Richard Ashcroft. Never been a fan of The Who. Although Quadrophenia had a weird appeal.

That first shot is superb. It really plays with one's mind. Has a touch of diorama about it.

Yes, can't see the image but can by clicking on the hyperlink at the bottom. And although ideally the chimneys need to be in shot I really like the pic for its atmosphere.

Bologna Again

Bologna seems to have an endless amounts of monuments to photograph. I made another visit this Sunday to see a couple of other places. I have some other visits planned before the tourist season kicks in and photography becomes more difficult. Getting people free shots took a lot of patience even on a cold January afternoon.

All these were taken with a Z7 and my Nikon 24PC and Laowa 15 shift. I used my monopod with feet for all the shots.

First off San Giovanni in Monte, with its curious Renaissance front and Gothic Interior.

Ex Santa Maria, has a weird history. It was deconsecrated at the beginning of the twentieth century and is now Aula Magna for the University of Bologna. It was used during the twenties as a gym and was bologna's first basketball stadium.

Basilica di Santa Maria dei Servi, was a secondary venue, but proved to be the most interesting. Again Gothic.

Love the fresh green colour of those trees. Photographically, I like the middle shot the best, with those stone pillars.

A pretty grim looking place on a horrible day. I like the vibe. But those verticals!

Fascinating. This is a good intro to the set.

The wood in 3 and 4 reeks of history.
What a bizarre building #5 is.
8 is a cool vanishing point composition.

Intriguing historic place. I'm always interested to see the layers of history unfolded.
