Source of the Rhone
The Rhone glacier is fast disappearing. I wanted to see it before it or I die, whichever is first. 😐
My husband remembers it hanging over the ledge of rock...
There has been an 'ice cave' tourist attraction for many decades, but now, the proprietors have had to cover some of the ice (lower right) in a vain attempt to preserve enough ice to sustain their business.
High up on the glacier you can just make out a couple of tents where some mountaineers are camped. The unstable ice makes this a very dangerous activity.
