    Cliché but effective.

Turning the picture 180* gives this a really unsettling vibe.

Tomorrow we renew all the pictures at our Pilsbach Open-air-gallery!

This “big” event has become a yearly tradition here, almost like a village party. It’s planned to start at 3pm tomorrow afternoon with a welcome champagne, provided by the village Pub, for all that turn up. Then we’ll all walk around the easy 3.5km circular country route together, and talk about the pictures and the trips we made to get them.
The pub, at the start and end, is of course happy to serve drinks and meals to all the visitors throughout the year 😊
The 28 photos, printed big on aluminum composite panels, are completely weather and UV resistant. They look good for many years.

It’s a great way to present our work 😊 This year we have a third photographer with us, presenting some of his drone pictures of the village and other places.
“Entry” to the “Pilsbacher Freilichtgalerie , Austria ” is free and it's open all year round.

So, if anyone just happens to be in this area tomorrow; do come along :-)

Here’s a few of my shots from this year.

A lovely set of pictures, but I particularly liked the first shot with all those wild flowers.

    Have a good party day.

How quickly we have moved from winter, to those hot hazy summer days. I feel the hot day in this shot.

    Rotonda di San Tomè

Your "Romanesque project" must fill a real thick book already.
This Rotonda di San Tomè will make another fine chapter in that book

I could easily fill two or three Blurb books. Thats the problem. How do I divide the sets of pictures ? By region of type.

    58/1.4 SL II

Packing for a longer trip and having just 8 kilograms of camera gear to bring along (including the backpack) it is tricky to decide what to bring and what to leave at home! I hope to bring all my fast lenses, all my DSLR and Nikon 1 cameras, and a few long lenses, but that doesn't work as that would

Some lenses I use a lot, some just occasionally, like the Voigtländer 58/1.4 SL II, so why not take a few snaps?!

The wife wasn't interested in acting model so Theodore Jr. had to make do. We have quite a few teddy bears, collecting them for the grandchildren that never arrived. Now they (twins, age 5) are school kids and past bears (we left them just as Covid started to lock the borders, so we flew home going by China, somewhere we've never been before.

Anyway, it is a somewhat heavy, but compact, lens, with a lovely bokeh, and it is pretty darn sharp if you manage to do the focusing spot on. This needs to go in the camera bag!

Welcome aboard. I always covet Voigtländer lenses but that is a focal length I hardly ever use. I'd like a Voigtländer wide angle given the chance.

Those diagonals make a very striking dynamic image. Maybe a bit too tightly cropped?

    Summer hiking

A few more from our trip to Arran. We basked in blazing sun and very un-Scottish temperatures, which made hiking into the hills quite hard work.

Coire Fhionn Lochan, close to the wonderfully named village of Thundergay.

    Thanks!
The "cropping" was done the moment the photo was taken, so to fix that would demand a lot of editing...

Another little romanesque gem. The sculpture puts me in mind of those Melusina images that are so intriguing and that you've shown in various places before.
