First off, I hope you stay here, because I like a few others got banned in the dying hours of DPR, by a particularly vindictive Mod in a bout of score settling. I re-joined as usual with a new name, but I cannot be bothered with always having to be careful with what I write. I believe they have a threaded view in the works here. I also have doubts about the new owners, so I would say it might be best to see how the wind blows for a few months yet. The guys who got this site up and running deserve our support.
Now the serious stuff.
A huge derelict industrial site on the other side of Reggio is slowly being repurposed as a technological hub. The "Reggiana" was once Reggio's biggest employer. They made all sorts of things from railway rolling stock, cranes, and during the war, Italy's answer to the Spitfire. Years of mismanagement, mostly during the years when it was state owned, slowly ran the company into the ground. Much of our manufacturing industry was founded by ex employees of this colossus. The still derelict part of this site is the home to Reggio's drug dealers, another florid industry.
I had a wander around the new repurposing of the old industrial sheds. I am sure the old steel structures will outlive the sandwich panels and plasterboard ticky tacky boxes that look good right now because they are still new. Still I had fun with this different for me, Architectural subject.
