The Ames Room can make a person grow larger or smaller by moving from one room one corner to the other corner.

    How does it work?

The back wall is not of constant height horizontally. However, it appears constant if the lens is off to one side but still pointing at the center horizontally, due to perspective distortion. As the figure is moved to the left, it appears to grow against a reducing back wall height because it is close thereto.

There's the Ames Window which is as mind boggling as the Ames Room. It may be more mind boggling.

Here’s the Âmes Room Effect, seen outdoors. It’s the tilt of the Ground.
