This was a lucky shot, this egret was being chased by some nesting barn swallows and flew right past where I was shooting a great blue heron nest. I walked back to where he landed and found him in sunlight standing in water and a dark mudbank as a background. He was ducking attacks by the swallows and flew off and few seconds later. Image made with the SD1 Merrill and the Sigma 50-500 mm OS lens.

You can make the image clickable by first pasting the image link into an image tag, then copy/paste the entire result of that into the 'link text' field of a link tag while putting the (bare)url in the 'link address' field of that link tag, it will look the same on this page but will also present the original (flickr) image (size) when clicked.
