Awesome capture. I've only seen one of these guys in the wild. Of course there is no telling how many I've overlooked. They truly blend in.

Beautiful blues and bokeh. Amazing what you get with projection lenses.

Fine images. Don't think I've ever seen the second one while out and about.

Thanks Barrondia...
There aren't many Australian dragonflies that are found elsewhere in the world. Some also throughout Asia and only one I am aware of that exists here, in Asia and into Europe and northern Africa (Slender Skimmer or Green Marsh Hawk). We have 325 of ~ 3,000 global species and of those 325 I have only seen maybe a dozen or so.
This one, believe it or not, is a juvenile Blue Skimmer and will change colour as it matures.
It is interesting seeing the different colour combinations of the different species in other continents.
This is "The One". A masterpiece!👍👍👍
Thanks heaps - I looked at it in a different light after your comment...
It's a very nice composition...
Impressive, as usual.👍
Just crazy 😮
Wow that's a colourful, interesting fly...
Hi Brian, thanks for the comment. It is colorful... and very territorial: the next day I found it perched on that same flower 😮
I have spiders galore to entertain myself with. Most are quite tiny, not seeing any of those big pretty orb weavers yet, they usually come later on in October.
Excellent capture! The web leads the eye right to the spider. Parts of the web turns almost psychedelic.
