I often wonder what the psychological interpretation is for those that seek attention risking their lives? -

I think that may well be very annoying to a lot of people, We had to wait an extra hour to watch the race pass 😀 However it was a peaceful protest no one was hurt or likely to be hurt . The four were arrested once unglued , If protest is not disruptive it will never garner any attention.

Yes that is absolutely in the stupid category , his only interest was in generating clicks to Instagram or YouTube with no interest beyond self promotion and no consideration for anyone bar himself . The race had not started so no one was at any risk at all and they were protesting a valid concern. And after a small delay the race went on as normal no one was ever at the slightest risk

To be fair, doing stupid things is not entirely in the realm of the morons. I've seen some very intelligent people do some pretty stupid things at times.
What makes the difference though in my opinion, is whether you learn from it. Sometimes you only get one chance though. -
That is true I was watching some interesting discussions about the potential risks of AI from very well informed people, yet other very smart people are determined to go ahead developing AI regardless of potential risks. Look what that bar steward skynet did in terminator 😀 Though joking aside I do see some potential for very great risks going forward with AI.

Absolutely. As far as I can tell, AI gathers all its "knowledge" off of the interwebz, and we all know how reliable that can be 😂😂

It was the social media self-promotion that generated the income (including, reportedly, some sponsorships and event bookings) for him to pursue this lifestyle. “Clicks’ were a means to income for him. Nobody eats a “like”. They eat from the results of the promotion. And, for ultra dangerous stuff like this, at some point there is a good chance that they don’t eat anymore.
Do circus performers who do all sorts of really dangerous stuff for money - often without safety measures, promoted by the circus and paid for by ticket sales, fall into the stupid category too?
Assuming that this analysis is roughly accurate, who on this list falls into the stupid category?

No - it's a memory of a good time that they had. In the olden days you had to get someone else to take a picture with you in it. No one objected to that.

Amsterdam has recently banned cruise ships from docking at the city's main terminal.

Other European countries are imposing fines and restrictions amid tourist overcrowding.
The issue is overtourism impacts the residents not only in quality of life but in cost to provide the additional services required. I don't think it is the selfie that is at issue but the impact of the throngs of tourist ganging up to take the selfie.
This summer multiple national parks in the US and recreational areas managed by the National Forest service have implemented a timed entry reservation system to get into the facilities to mitigate crowds larger than the capability of the area to support. Two examples is the Mt. Evans Scenic Byway and Rocky Mountain National Park.
