Sorry but nothing about that image speaks to me as being natural in detail and color
with the smearing and over processing and blotchy ness

They grew hair from over sharpening 🤣

I know several bug guys that would find all of that detail and color anything but natural

of cause they will fall over .they havent seen detail like this before on live beetles at this magnifacation.

No they just know that it is processing that created that kind of punch and to them it was a fad just like tone mapping was to landscape photography

No but they do know what natural looking insects appear like and that detail is anything but real, and they are not interested in eye candy that many try and post
When stacking is done nicely they can look good but the over sharpening and processing is what they don't like, and I kind of agree with them on that

Getting back on track, if you really need to know what a histogram shows you I would recommend Andrew Rodney about what a histogram is
But then again I would feel he has no time for your games

Given you do not profile your monitors and calibrate them only by eye it is reasonable to assume the colours in the images you linked to are more accurate than yours.

If you look through his posts over at dpreview you will see that he also often posted that the camera histograms do not show clipping of raw data accurately.

He often labelled camera histograms a lie but imo that is a bit a bit of a stretch because camera histograms do not claim to represent what happened earlier in the raw data before the jpeg the camera histogram is based on was created.
