Nice picture.
If it were me, I would have swung the camer a bit left and zoomed in a bit so the people were more of the focus rather than the brick wall.

I initially considered a crop like the one you propose, giving more prominence to the couple……but in the end, I decided on the complete scenario. Maybe it's because of the way the light comes in...
