I'm confused. Danno says he has named the island - but the only island he has named is Magnetic Island - and that isn't it. Or have I missed something?

Maybe it’s time to put this one to rest.
I believe we are at Cardwell in Queensland, Australia – looking eastwards out over the Cardwell Jetty.
The island in the distance, as mentioned by Brian, is definitely not Magnetic Island – which is actually well out of sight, over 100km to the south.
I also believe that Bryan knows the location, with his wordplay on the name, and suggest he takes the next turn as I’m now heading for bed down here. (Providing, of course, that Brian confirms Cardwell as being correct)

Maybe it is.
I was thinking it is the jetty next to Townsville Casino with Magnetic Island directly opposite. You can catch a ferry to Magnetic Island from very near the casino.

Yes Cardwell is the location with Hinchinbrook Island in the distance.

I am inland from a previous post (of mine). Adam wasn't born here, although the local villagers might like to think so. I am visible from the sky. Name the district and the road that runs along the tree line. It is not Eucalypt Road.

Inland from Ballina (the river seawall pic). Adam born (or lived) in Eden. There is Eden Creek, Edenville in this area. On the pic you can see a jetty, visible in this google maps screenshot.
