D7200 fail to fire hot shoe flash

I have a Nikon D7200, it fires a external hot shoe flash for a few shots then intermittently begins to fail to fire flash.
It does the same thing with another flash.
Should I have it repaired or junk it?

Which model(s) of flash are you using? Are they high voltage and/or negative polarity?

Godox V860IIN, also fails with Nissin Di866 flash.

Ah, OK - that's obviously not the problem then...

From the sounds of it, there's a loose connection somewhere and as such should be a relatively easy repair to do as there are probably no parts required - just a bit of labour to remove the hot shoe and touch up the soldering either at the hot shoe or on the board.

Therefore, just get it repaired.

I had the same happen a few years back when the camera was still under warranty. They needed to replace the main PCB of the camera. I cannot say what the repair costs would be, as it was repaired under warranty, but my guess would be between €300 and €500, if they still have the parts. I believe they charge around €50 for examination if you decide not to repair it. As the chip with the image counter is also on that board my 'amount of clicks' went to zero, increasing the resale value :-) That said I still have and use the camera.
