I think this has been all talked out. Time to make the change and see how it flies.

I'm away until Monday afternoon. It will get done when I get back (Tues/Wed I expect).
Steps should be:- Produce a migration and test spreadsheet (aka tick list).
- Backup the existing database
- Turn the system read-only and put in a message saying why
- Do the work
- Turn the system back on again
- Wait for the complaints that something got missed 😁

I'm in favor of the Mount organization, if that counts ONE.
For sure I didn't get that: what I saw was a page with a lot of unrelated boxes
( it was not organized in Excell!!!!)

We showed 4 different options in the dev2 web site which people could look at and then choose one option. From that, I did my spreadsheet based on what people had chosen. The poll was up for 5 days. I'm sorry if you didn't see it in those 5 days, but the decision has been made now and I'm not changing it.
Dev2 (dev2.dprevived.com) now shows what the final forum site should look like, without the updates to tidy up the forum names (I'm only doing that when I update the real site).

Your Excel was clear and immediately understandable to me.
From day one I never looked at the "Forum's Pages Index" 'cause I'm only on the "All Threads" view.
I saw all the options:
Great white pages with a lot of boxes on them( and that has no meanings to me )
PS: this is your Dev2 page = White with a lot of boxes on it.
I have absolutely NO IDEA what that page means

That's the current 'home' page. Contains links to each of the forums and shows where they sit in relation to others. For example, you can click on Photographic Genres and see all the threads in the forums underneath. Or you can click on one of the forums and only see threads in that forum.
If you have bookedmarked one forum and only ever visit that one, you will enver see the above picture. That's the old DPReview way - we are different.
This style has been around since DPRevived started (well, since about a week after it started if you want to be pedantic).

No, Never bookmarked anything.
That is the silly way I use my PC :
on Brave Browser I have 12 windows that on average get 12-15 tabs open ( 3Giga Ram)
on Chrome only 6 windows with 10-12 tabs each ( 4Giga RAM)
The last count was 157 tabs ready for me to click in less than 1 secondI use "Tab Session Manager" to organize, save, and recover all the tabs.

... this is one of the three tabs I have on Revived: "All", "Subscribed", "Z talk".and that never changed fro the day the Revived was up and running.

"Pots & Gardens" is not covered by "Nature", at least to me. Nature implies untamed things, Pots & Gardens implies "tamed" plants. Also, there seems to be nowhere for pet photography. "Lumpers" would say they go in "Nature", but the same argument vis a vis wild and tamed applies here as well. Perhaps "Domestic Animals" or "Domesticated Animals", which would also cover such subjects as farm animals and racehorses?

Although I kind of like "Pets & Pots" 😸, "Home Photography" seems way too general -- everything from the plumber under the sink to a gorgeous portrait of a prize-winning rose. I'm still in favor of these three:
Nature and Wildlife, Pots & Gardens, Domestic Animals (with a subheading indicating pets, farm animals, etc.) -
There might be some help available to The Team through studying articles on hierarchical key-wording.
I use it in XnView MP as opposed to a long flat list of subjects:

I quite like 'Home Photography' which encompasses the last two of your headings. So, I've changed DEV2 to show that (go and have a look).
I'd rather not ADD more forums if I don't have too. We will end up with too much segregation.
