This guy was absolutely amazing doing 360deg flips or whatever they are called in wind surfing lingo.

I prefer this one because it provides more context/sea around the surfer. The color contrast works nicely as well.

Both serve a different purpose for me. The photo in my op is a cropped version of the next shot in the burst sequence after this one.

I like this one because it shows more context, as you correctly state, with the spray of water created at the start of the flip.

For me, the image in my op is more of an "action shot" than this one.
