The Bighorns are among my favorite of all the ranges I have been in.

We spent four days at a lodge on top of the Bighorns this summer. The place is interesting and teaming with wild life. We saw herds of elk, a herd of bachelor moose with nice racks, munching on willows. The beauty of the Bighorns is it is more or less a high plateau with most of it at or above treeline that is easy to get around.

I spent a night alone up there in a tent one time. I was approached by "something" in the middle of the night. I snarled at it, and it ran off.
I was awful glad it wasn't a bear 😀
