@Digirame which picture style and WB setting were used for the Rhododendron Wall captures? I'm surprised at how much better the colors look on the T7i in comparison to the M50 mkii.

    DaveNJ,

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm glad you asked. I purposely left the first two photo's colors untouched for discussion purposes. I mentioned that there was a blueish cast for that reason.

The first two photos were taken as AWB (auto) and the last one...the same. The rest of them were taken as cloudy white balance. The sun was coming in and out of the clouds, so sometimes I didn't change the white balance (when I should have). When it's definitely cloudy, I found that cloudy white balance is best. AWB works better for other things too. So I experimented some....

So this was not a fault of the Canon M50 MKII, rather it was me that created something less desirable. 😀

A little edit: For out-of-the-camera JPEGs, the picture style I chose was customized. Using the correct white balance during cloudy weather is paramount (at least, what I've found).

    Dunlin,

It's great to see your photos. Do you have a lot of Herring Gulls where you live?

Okay... given that I was very late with my final images in last week's thread, I decided to post some different shots here:

    Hi simplejoy,

Love the "Got a good teal on this necklace". 😀

    Hi all,

A walk around Tregargus Valley, Cornwall. Part of the Clay Country region, China stone is what was quarried here, The main part of making porcelain.

Hard to see all the remains of that era as nature claims back its land.

The 'parking bays' you can see is where the horse drawn wagons would reverse in to collect the China stone. Mocha,

I loved seeing your landscape scenes, especially the third one with the water at 1 second shutter speed hand-held. The flowers were lovely too.

We do. There are quite a few rooftop nests in my local area.
They seem to be everywhere in the UK, but, to be fair, I only live about a mile from the sea.

These are my favorites. Love the composition in the first shot with the stream as well as the wonderful look and tones of the water surface. And the second one is great in terms of focusing and has very beautiful colors as well. Excellent!

    Hi Digirame, Thank You.

I sat down, brought my knees up and rested the camera on them. Then a long deep breath. It was far easier with the 70D because it has the flippy screen and I could compose the shot easily. Not so with the 7D MkII with its static screen. Happy Holiday Digirame, bring back your photos, I'm sure you'll have a few 😀
