That's a good capture of the vulture. Where I live I see them a lot in late summer when the ponds start drying. There the fish start dying too in spots, so they have a feast.

Subject: New Leaves Under Stormy Clouds
When I took pictures of the purple blossoms I also saw new leaves on the trees. We had stormy clouds that eventually gave us a little rain. Fortunately, I had my "pocket" umbrella in my camera bag when the skies opened up.
I just liked this photo. It's nothing special, I suppose. But it was something that I liked. Are there any comments about this ordinary picture? Is it just "blah" of some new leaves or does it give you good vibes?

I am in two minds about this, because I passed up the chance to take a similar picture the other day. I decided then that leaves were not of themselves interesting enough to me. But in this case, the problem is rather that the trees get in the way of the storm clouds. Difficult!

Thank you about your comments about the new leaves under stormy clouds. I was trying to understand why I liked it. Maybe it was because the storm clouds brought new rain. Subsequently the rains bring new life, which are the blessings from above.

There seems to be an endless supply of good things to photograph in Vienna. Thanks for sharing those. Yes, the sun does give us that extra brightness that we like, as long as there are not distracting dark shadows. The blue sky on sunny days...yes...that's what I like too.

Subject: After The Fire Destruction
After the fire destruction, they removed the old building completely. The owner decided to change it to a food cart space, rather than construct a new building. So yesterday, I documented that for you all too, if you are interested.
There was some light rain at the time. I didn't have to use the umbrella but used my soft cloth to wipe off the sprinkles to keep the camera/lens dry. On all my camera lenses I have a hood for that reason, to keep also the sprinkles from hitting the lens. Hoods are also helpful to reduce any damage that could be done to them. For me, hoods are better than protective glass that some people use.

Wow...cool...that looks neat seeing a deer with what looks like some fog. Can you explain what you did to create this composite?

Using Irfanview, I took two jpgs. The first was a foggy picture of my back yard. I then overlayed a second picture of a deer I took in my front yard. You can find this overlay process in the Edit tab in Irfanview. You open one picture, hit the Edit tab and choose overlay and overlay a second one. Using a slider, you can decide what percentage you want either picture to dominate.
