I went out this evening and returned with a lot of shots. I will just post this one for the time being, as it was what I was really aiming for. It is of the Karlskirche (St. Charles Borromeo Church) in Vienna. I used my Laowa 12mm lens at f/11, 1/200s, ISO 100. EXIF info is probably weird, as it is a manual focus lens.

Nicely timed photo Digirame. Herons never seem to be moving that fast, but it’s remarkable how quickly they can move out of range.

    David,

Thanks. That was the first time I had seen baby ducklings hiding underneath their mother like that. They looked so cute.

    David,

That church is amazing. I wonder why there were those two towers. It's beautiful with the reflection.

    HessleHiker,

Thanks. Yes, those herons move quickly out of range, even though their wings are seemingly not moving fast. I wonder if it has to do with their large wing span which gives them that extra power to move.

    HessleHiker,

Thanks. It looked like their were at least three ducklings underneath the mom (mum). There may have been two other ducklings in the water near the log.

    Subject: Wild Rose

The Tamron 150-600mm lens has many uses, other than just taking pictures of wildlife. Here's a wild rose I captured with that lens. I liked that particular rose flower because of the shadows I saw and the surroundings. I hope you do too.

I think you mean the two pillars (columns), about which Wikipedia says:

"The columns display scenes from the life of Charles Borromeo in a spiral relief and are intended to recall the two columns, Boaz and Jachim, that stood in front of the Temple at Jerusalem. They also recall the Pillars of Hercules and act as symbols of imperial power."

    David,

Thanks for the explanation about the columns. I didn't know if they were like castle defensive towers.

The question I have about them now is: "How would one manage to see all the stuff engraved on them without special ladders?" At least the Bayeux Tapestry is a linear piece of cloth!
