I guess I’m just old. I hate watching video reviews. When DPReview posted them, I ignored them until a proper written review was done.

With the written word, you can skim and ignore the stuff you are not interested in. You can go back over a written review far more easily. Watching a video wastes so much time, most have the content buried in the presentation.

I find almost the totality of YouTube videos to be too superficial to be useful. But I quess it is less demanding to watch a talking head. Some wag told me the other days that "books are so old skool". I despair at times.

    really?

Really, yes, really, in our society where ignorance must be "celebrated".

True. And intelligence is attacked and derided.

    That was always the case.
    In 1980, Isaac Asimov wrote:
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.

    Step 1) buy used

    Step 2) review it yourself

Step 3) ask yourself, "Do I like it?" Yes -----> proceed to step 4
.........................................................No -----> resale it and go back to step 1

Step 4) ask yourself, "Am I ok with a used item?" Yes -----> proceed to step 5
...............................................................................No -----> resale and re-purchase brand new

    Step 5) Enjoy!

I had the unfortunate time of learning about this when I opened my Etsy shop. Data is king. It is why Instagram regular posts no longer perform and everything is in favor of Instagram reels, same with Youtube shorts, etc.

    They can quantify:
how long you spend watching a video
if you watch it to the end
    if you re-watch it
if you click the call to action link/button
    comment
    like it
    share it
    etc.

Speaking of fancy graphics, please click here:

Some theory for @CrashpcCZ in the link:

"This example illustrates how exposure in photography depends on factors: latitude, time of day, day of year, weather, composition. It relates these to camera settings: film speed (e.g. ISO 100), aperture and shutter speed. The mathematical approach and model is taken from book written by V. Setälä.[1]"

The above reference shows that there is far more to exposure than the settings of the aperture and the shutter, bastardized by ISO on one's camera ...

One of these would be nice:

    From the link:

    @bobn2 has written:

So, we see that if you have some given scene luminance, the relationship between the two controls and exposure is:

    H ∝ t/N²

    That's not a triangular relationship.

Agreed ... and Exposure Value a la Wiki is log2(N²/t) - no triangle there either :-D

Wrong quote. What is a triangular relationship anyway?

Being factual, Idid not claim the theory to be truthful, right, or actually working.

But it is here, obviously. Exposure triangle is everywhere around the internet. Tens or hundreds of publications.
