Where's my blue DoF indicator gone?

    X-T5. Latest firmware.

Yesterday, I was out shooting planes. Today, I took pictures and, while the distance indicator showed me what distance it was focussing on, there was no blue depth of field scale.

Anyone know what setting I've messed up to get that to disappear?

    thanks

Just a guess here but check the Depth-Of-Field Scale setting. The options are Pixel Basis and Film Format Basis. I remember one displayed the blue line much wider than the other. Unfortunately, I don't have my camera with me but I remember it being a significant difference.

Also, remember to check it with the lens stopped down. That should make it more obvious.

I should think a perusal of the user's manual ought to resolve the issue.

I have looked, but I cannot see anything. Give me a clue?

No - tried that. It was on Pixel. Changed it to film. No difference. Changed back to pixel. No change.

Put my 16-80 on and it works OK.

So, what is it about the 70-300?

Narrower depth of field on longer lenses, I think. The blue scale gets shorter and shorter as the lenses get longer, in particular when the aperture is not stopped down.

Yes, it's all working now. Whether it was my eyes or something was reset, I don;t know.
