    Colourful Microcosm
Six years ago on a sunny afternoon, tried some fun experiments and got these colourful results.

    DSC_5904 - Copy d smaller.JPG

    DSC_5928 d smaller.JPG

...while my daughter poured different coloured paints into water, I fired multiple shots into the aquarium, with flashlight coming from the side
Used a nice dark background and some techniques to reduce the unwanted reflections.
Just a little contrast and some tone adjustments added afterwards in pp.

It's amazing what intricate patterns you can get, with all that paint swirling around in the water.
...But you have to be quick,... it doesn't take long before entropy takes over and turns this all into one dull uniform, and rather boring, colour.

I've posted these before, but maybe it's worth another look in this new forum :-)

I am glad you have posted them again. They are so beautiful, they look like an organic matter, mushroom is growing out of the ground.

Interesting building, I find crypts a bit claustrophobic but this feels more roomy and relaxed.

Definitely has a strong Moor influence, so pretty, wood panels and decorations are fascinating.

That's a strange way to stand while fishing, he can hardly see what he's doing ;-)
I guess there wasn't much space next to fence or perhaps it was just too windy there.

I don't know why he was standing this way, you can see all the others fish on the edge of the bridge. It was not windy at all. But gave me a nice composition.

Agreement between municipal, provincial and federal governments resulted in creation of a massive $1.5 B flood control project where Don river meets Lake Ontario. In order to facilitate grand landscape development 3 sets of bridges were constructed. Designed in UK, engineered in Germany, manufactured in Holland, assembled in Nova Scotia and brought on barges to Toronto for final installation. There is still a lot of construction around, but bridges are open to vehicular traffic, walkers, runners and bikers. I could have spent hours there, but I think return trip in better weather is a must.

Excellent shot! I wonder how edible the fish are? The waters of the golden horn must be pretty polluted?

Thanks for your nice comment, the fish are perfect for consumption as the water are pretty clear now. This point where the golden horn meets with Bosphorus there are very strong currents that keeps circulating the water. When you travel further in, water quality gets poorer as there are human made structures hamper the flow.

    Goldeneyes

Last weekend visited bird sanctuary, which was bad idea. Most of road was frozen solid ice, so I had to walk very carefully while holding my camera. Not much birds were seen, until I reached shore and saw some goldeneyes quite close to waterline diving for something. It was relatively warm (ca. 0C) and sunny but wind was quite strong, adding chill effect and I managed to stay there for maybe 20 minutes before my hands were completely frozen. But at least I got some shots which was kind of surprising, as usually they are very cautious birds and don't let approach very easily.

Goldeneyes ! They deserve their names.

YSL museum in Marrakech! I am surprised.
Very skillfully composed and you captured the director's action just in time.

He loved Marrakech and lived out there for a long time with his partner. He created an amazing garden at the back of the museum (which was originally his house).

Having a human presence adds greatly to this shot. Are they other visitors? As it looks like a fashion shoot.
