I always enjoy your posts with the details of your walks. As usual some good stuff, particularly the first one when seen big and the winter trees.

They love putting up those awful information panels that blight many of our interesting places here in Italy too. The good news is most of them soon fall prey to the elements and quickly fade and rot away.

    Nearly Autumn

Late posting this week, as I have just got back from a trip to Scotland. Before I went, I was hoping to find some Autumn colours around Lake Pranda in the Tosco Emilian Apennines, but I was a bit early and bad weather was fighting to get in from Tuscany.

A little lake next to the main lake. One of my favourite spots.

Autumn colour seems to have been late or non-existant this year. Larches in the French alps were only just turning as we left last week. Back in UK leaves are just withering and falling off without much colour at all. It does seem a bit better here in the north - I think there was a touch of frost while we were away, which seems to trigger a reaction. I hope we're going to see some pictures from Scotland.
The first one of this set is my pick, nice textural contrast.

That looks like a great place for hiking and photos. The first is my favourite, a peaceful scene.
The autumn colours were definitely subdued somewhat here in Austra too.

Lucky to see an almost completely intact fly agaric, they are often half eaten away by slugs, I wonder if they get strange dreams ;-)

Great piece of "seeing" and composition.

The warm colours are good, a bit muted but nice and bright. In such an "almost abstract" it doesn't really matter that some parts are blown completely.
I looked at this image a few times, it is one of those intriguing pictures that keep pulling you back in for another attemp at deciphering it :-)
After a few times, I can now now see a man's face in a dark winter jacket with the hood pulled up and it's all being reflected in something like tin foil, crumpled up more at the top. Am I close?
    I like it!

My wife is insulted! Lol. Muted...I thought it was still a tad too garish, but this was a 5 minute edit job. I was trying to replace the white with something, but I thought it kinda worked as some sort of gap between the real world and this image. The reflection is from some sorta generic stick on mirorr, still stuck to its original paper.

I didn't know there would be such an uninterrupted expanse of trees in Atlanta.
