Alan, with about 1.56 Euro per liter your petrol is a little less than what Photobygms would pay in the Netherlands. The prices of gasoline (petrol) is quite different state by state where we live in the USA. Typically, the highest prices are in the western states and Hawaii. Before I saw that price of $3.279 (USD) per gallon (US), we normally were paying over $4.250 per gallon. I don't know if that price will stay that low for very long.

A little trivia: RHD (right hand drive) vehicles are legal to drive here in the USA, even though we drive on the "wrong" side. 😀

That's also in the Netherlands legal. They also can be registered as dutch cars/vehicles.😎

I pay €1.80 per litre for Shell premium 100 octane. I dont begrudge it, considering that I just paid my bill for fully comprehensive insurance and road tax -- €3100 for 13 months, with discounts! Driving is an expensive hobby here...

Wow - that's not cheap. I think my last years insurance bill was around £500 - for a 3 year old £40,000 car.

It's an interesting thing. LHD were always able to be registered here in Australia, but in the state I grew up in they always had a "Caution left hand drive vehicle" on the back somewhere. I am not sure if that was the case in other states (each have their own rules though mostly similar), but they seem to have dropped the caution sign requirement in my birth state - although I have seen it on other bigger machines that sometimes find their way onto roads.
It always looks odd though when you see a vehicle with only the driver in it and he's sitting on the "passenger's" side! 😳
