The Beginners Questions Area

That really seems like a valuable approach for a lot of us. Also be helpful in the Beginner's area if the threads could stay a little closer to on topic and not go so far afield as this one has. Anything we can do to help beginners seems a dividend multiplier to me. Thanks for bringing this up. Can only help, IMO

Why discussing it? The answer is well-known, all you need is to ask. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

Are you really sure that's what you want?

Fairly, less fairly or unfairly. It absolutely can. And I believe he knows that. We should all expect to be questioned and facts checked.
Did he conduct himself inbest possible way? Probably not. That alone might not be fair request for anyone though.

Also, these accusations did not fall out of the sky, but it was reaction to some questionable content.

It would be best, if the conflict went this way:

"Danno:
given the past mistakes I have found in your response,s I do not trust your data enough. Could you please provide original RAW files? Thank you."

"Donald: Sorry to hear that, it is uncomfortable. Here is the data".

"Danno and rest of the forum on their merry way".

But that didn't happen, did it?
Donald claims to make no such mistakes, presenting authority over others", Danno fights back. What course do you expect?

It is funny, because it's true. 🤦
At some point, one should not be offended to get better.

And maybe what's the best part of it, Donald gets the explanation he is looking for ;)

It's not always about anger. Some people try to extract information that way, without hurting their self-esteem.

Actually, it seems to me like he might get the message. If that is the case, then my time was not lost after all. It is true though, that I have less argumentation, less name calling, less authority checks and more agreements than others with Donald. Maybe, just maybe, sometimes, not always, civil conduct does help to sort things out faster. Physical cage for more manly argumentation would be great for consenting parties, but it is not possible online, so we have just these tools of eloquence and civility. 🤭

Donald, you sent me a link through PM to [your words] raw files. I won't be downloading them as I could not refer to them in a public discussion. If you do not publish them, the questions about the screen shots remain

You would have to ask the person that made it relevant and it wasn't Robert1955, but he is now :-)

of course you can thats the whole idea of sending a link. you can process them the way you normally do and post what ever part you like, ive only sent them via PM so another members cant process them to suite there agendas. btw i have already posted them so your not going to see anything any different than what is already there.

As I said, it would be interesting to see how they link member accounts to who actually was sitting at the pc, laptop, whatever when any of the linked posts were made.

It's not hard to spoof IP addresses.

I posted earlier I am happy for anyone to think I am any of the David's in the 260+ pages of them on dpreview. :-)

I don't think I know Dan. I do know and two other people know and I plan to leave it at that. I do like you, so that's that.
