I imagine the old time workers - probably wood cutters - arranged these to sit and have their lunch. There is quite a view behind me but the sun was too bright to capture it.

This sad little bench lives in a secluded spot beside the main road in Borrowdale. It's accessible, but hidden from the road by being below its level in a clearing next to the river Derwent. I discovered it while walking back along the pathless road, it doesn't look like it gets a lot of use and I chose not to sit on it for fear it wouldn't survive. The inscription reads "TLP 1964".
