How big is/was DPR really?

Anyone know how many users and how much traffic DPR got?

I’ve been wondering myself. I do t think there were many active forum users any more.

There was a thread here that had a post linking to some stats. Over a million registered users I think. No idea how many were actually active.

Over a million? their daily posts (no reviews) usually have between 75-150 comments tops, -the one from this morning has 173- which is an extremely low engagement for such a large base.

Reddit has 500 million subscribers but “only" 50 million unique visitors per day. Maybe in DPR it is similar, with a 10% of active members.

When it comes to internet communities, there’s something called 90-9-1 rule:

90% of users just read and don’t participate
9% of users participate in reaction to created content
1% of users creates new content

I was a regular user of DPReview, joined in 2005 and it was my go to app for any and everything to do with photography. Will definitely miss it in my daily browsing. I have used photography as a serious hobby since 1978.

Same for me, I joined DPreview in 2003 (will be missed).

This website says it is/was somewhere around 8 million visitors/month.
