The edges of the figures are jagged, just as when we digitise something with a small number of bits per sample. I am used to thinking of audio, but this shows the equivalent in visual signals.

The edges are jagged because figures are made from pieces of LEGO. This is how they actually look.

I know that. The jagged edges that the Lego bricks give to the figures are what I am referring to. It is a representation of smooth shapes in a digital format. Each Lego brick is a quantum level.
