Link came out OK on my system, Don. EXIF was intact and image was auto-resized to fit my window and. '+' cursor works.
No post preview, though.

Currently 4MB max.
Once you've uploaded your photo, next to it at the base of the post, you'll see an icon with a couple of squares in it - to embed the photo in the post. Click on it, it'll then appear in the body of your post rather than just being an attachment.

I see your text is now at the side of the now-visible image in your first post..
A carriage-return or two in Edit or Reply can fix that. See your quote above.
