This is one of those spur of the moment shots, more of a practice than anything else. I have always liked it but if it were accurate may not. Since the noise doesn't register so much on the foreground it's really hard to tell the difference between stars and noise in the sky. There may be some banding going on and there was light pollution from the neighboring town. Thirty seconds with a small sensor, I assume that sky is mostly noise?
How to tell?
Assuming that the camera did not move during the 30 sec exposure, the elongated dots are stars, the small round dots are noise. The top RH quadrant is the constellation of Orion.

Ah, such an obvious remedy. One of those "why didn't I think of that"? Thanks.
I like this image a lot. When zooming in on the image it reminds me of an impressionistic painting. Not all images have to be technically perfect. I think the noise enhances the image.

Actually, looking at it again, there seems to be very little noise. There is an amazing number of stars. You are lucky where you live. I dont think I could take such a picture here in central Europe, as there are too many clouds and light pollution.
